SEO: Tips To Gain An Advantage with Google Caffeine
July 14th, 2010
To provide a better experience for each user Google has recently developed a new web indexing system called Google Caffeine which is their first major search engine application change since 2006. Google caffeine provides 50 % fresher results for web searches than Google’s last index. Search engine users can now find links to relevant content much sooner after it is published than it was possible ever before.
While this improvements benefit all users of the search engine, there are a few things that every company should know about in order to make their website more visible in search results.
• Content is King
Remember that the content presented on your website should reflect your businesses products and services in a clear and simple way that visitors will understand. If you want search engine users to find your website, forget about entirely flash-based websites. Although flash animation is attractive and popular trend, the main search engines can’t see the text contained in flash. So, if you want your website to be ranked higher in search results stick with text.
• Pictures & Videos Have a Role
Google Caffeine demands visually appealing results. You don’t have to go over the top, but know that images and even embedded video clips on your website will play a part in Google’s new ranking system. Once your images and video clips are in place, be sure to optimize them for SEO.
• Keep it Fresh
As Google’s new Caffeine algorithm aims to provide users with the most accurate search possible, you need to update your website’s content regularly, otherwise Google may pass it by thinking that the information is either not up to date or that the website has been abandoned by its creator. Keep your website’s content fresh by running a blog and posting recent news features to your website.
• Use Meta Tags Wisely
Don’t forget to incorporate competitive and relevant Meta Tags within the content of the page, as they help with getting your page indexed well.
• Social Media
With Google Caffeine’s real time search results, social media marketing has become more significant. Spend some time on updating your company’s social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Provide content that is relevant to your industry. It will help to get your posts picked up in right places on these scrolling streams of search results.

My uncle works at Google. I’d like to use some of this information on my blog if you don’t mind, and I’ll provide a link back to your site.
